Stash Privacy Policy

Stash (hereinafter "the App") values your personal information and has established the following privacy policy in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

1. Personal Information Collected

The App may collect the following information to provide its services.

• Device information: Advertising identifier, device model, and OS version (for advertising services)
• Link metadata: URLs you save and their Open Graph metadata (title, description, thumbnail). This data is fetched from external websites and stored locally on your device.

All content including saved links, folders, tags, and Vault data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to any external server unless you explicitly enable cloud sync or backup features.

2. Purpose of Collection and Use

• Link management: Saves, organizes, and retrieves links and their metadata on your device.
• Advertising: Displays personalized ads through Google AdMob.
• Backup: When you enable Dropbox backup, your data is transmitted to your personal Dropbox account.
• App improvement: May collect anonymized usage data to analyze crashes and improve service stability.

3. Retention Period

• On-device data: All data is deleted when the App is uninstalled.
• Backup data: Managed by the respective backup service (Dropbox) and subject to their retention policies.
• Advertising data: Subject to Google's privacy policy.

4. Sharing with Third Parties

The App does not share your personal information with third parties in principle. However, the following exceptions apply:

• When you have given prior consent
• When required by law
• Limited information may be shared with Google AdMob for advertising services.
• When you explicitly enable Dropbox backup, data is transmitted to Dropbox, Inc.

5. App Permissions

The App uses the following permissions:

• Internet (INTERNET): For fetching link metadata, displaying ads, and cloud services [Required]
• Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE): For background backup operations [Required]
• Biometric (USE_BIOMETRIC): For Vault authentication via fingerprint or face recognition [Optional]

Optional permissions are requested only when the corresponding feature is used. You can use the basic features of the App without granting them.

6. Vault Data

The Vault feature stores data in a separate encrypted database on your device. Vault data requires biometric or PIN authentication to access and is never transmitted externally unless you explicitly enable backup.

7. Security Measures

The App implements the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information:

• All user data is encrypted and stored in the device's internal storage.
• Vault data is stored in a separate encrypted database.
• Encrypted connections (HTTPS) are used for network communications.
