Andante Terms of Service
Effective date: October 5, 2026
These terms cover Andante ("the App"). Installing or using the App means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the App.
1. What the App is
Andante is a task manager that runs on your device: tasks with due times and reminders, lists, folders and tags, and a calendar view that can show your device's existing events beside your tasks. Some features are offered only to some users, and features may change between versions. Apart from Andante Cloud, the one optional online service described in section 2, everything works on your device without an account.
2. No account needed, nothing to buy
- You do not need an account to use the App. The only part that uses one is Andante Cloud — optional sync that requires signing in with Google or Apple and is currently offered to a limited group of users. If you never sign in to it, you have no account with us and we cannot see or administer your data.
- Andante Cloud may change or stop being offered; the data on your devices is not affected. You can delete your Andante Cloud account and its data at any time in the App, or as described at velocitycraft.app/andante/delete-account.
- The App is free. There is no subscription, no paid tier, and no feature behind a payment.
- Without an Andante Cloud account, there is nothing for us to suspend, and your relationship with the App ends when you uninstall it.
3. Your content is yours
- Everything you create in the App — tasks, notes, images, checklists, habits, and the rest — belongs to you. We claim no licence over it.
- It is stored on your device. It reaches us only if you use Andante Cloud, and we store and transmit it only to provide that sync — and, as the privacy policy explains, to help you recover data when you ask us to, or when the law requires it. Otherwise we hold no copy and cannot restore anything for you.
- Backing up is your responsibility. The App can export a full backup file and a CSV, and can restore from a backup file. Whether that happens, and where the file is kept, is up to you.
- A backup file you export is a plain file. Anyone who can read it can read your tasks.
4. Your device calendar
- With your permission, the calendar view reads events from your device's calendar and displays them. It does not copy or store them.
- Dragging an event to a new time changes that event's start and end time for real. If the calendar is synced to an account such as Google or Exchange, the change syncs with it. The App cannot create or delete events.
- Andante is not responsible for a calendar change you make by dragging, nor for how another service handles that change.
5. Alarms and reminders — read this one
- Andante can ring a real alarm, and it does everything a third-party app can do to make one fire: exact alarms, re-arming after a reboot or a time change, and a full-screen alarm on the lock screen.
- We cannot guarantee that any alarm will fire. Android can revoke the exact-alarm permission, a manufacturer's battery optimisation can stop the app being woken, a force-stop cancels scheduled alarms, and a device can be off, silent, or out of battery. These are outside our control.
- Do not rely on Andante alone for anything where a missed alarm would be serious — medication, a flight, a medical appointment. Use a second, independent means.
- The App tells you when a permission it needs is missing rather than pretending a reminder is armed. That is a warning, not a guarantee.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Redistribute, sell, or sublicense the App without authorisation.
7. Importing from other services
The App can import files exported from TickTick, Todoist, Google Tasks, and Apple Reminders. It reads a file you provide; it does not connect to those services and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any of them. Those names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to say which file formats are supported. Whether an import is accurate depends on the file you supply.
8. Intellectual property
The App — its design, code, and content, excluding what you create in it — belongs to Velocity Craft. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
9. No warranty
The App is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that alarms will fire under all device and system conditions, or that an import, export, or restore will preserve everything exactly.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Velocity Craft is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the App — including missed reminders, missed alarms, and lost data. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App, which is zero. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law in your country grants you and does not permit to be waived.
11. Privacy
How the App handles data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. Before a revised version takes effect, we publish it on this page and change the effective date at the top, and continued use afterwards means you accept the revised terms.
